Government to prevent disease EMS Indonesian territory by banning the import of shrimp and natural food from countries affected by the outbreak.

To prevent outbreaks of disease contracted farms Indonesia Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS) or Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND), the government imposed a ban on imports of shrimp and natural food from the country or countries affected by outbreaks transit. Six shrimp producing countries embargoed it is India, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Mexico.

The temporary prohibition set forth in the Ministerial Regulation No. 32/Permen-KP/2013 and recommendations of the Head of the Fish Quarantine, Quality Control, and Safety of Fishery Products in the form of a circular Director General of Processing and Marketing of Fishery Products (P2HP), Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF ) dated January 22, 2014. According Artati Widiarti, Director of Overseas Marketing, DG P2HP, CTF, “The ban is to protect the shrimp production of shrimp farmers in the country.”
