The National Food Authority will conduct an inquiry on the animals’ slaughter and meat trade in the entire territory. This inquiry’s purpose is to give an explanation to the fact that Albanian meat is still being sold in a number of cities despite a forbidden ordinance due to a bovine disease. NFA aims to unveil any illicit form of animals slaughter, meat transportation and trade. The work done so far by the NFA regional directories will also be revised by the General Directory.
This fact was announced by the NFA General Director, Isuf Shehu during a meeting with 12 NFA Regional Directors.
“NFA has not allowed the bovine importation, in accordance to the Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti ordinance. On the other side no Albanian meat has been allowed to be exported” said Shehu.
An ordinance released by the Minister of Agriculture, Panariti included a series of preventive measures aiming to forbid the lumpy skin disease spreading in the entire territory.
